Delivering a speech at the reception, Ambassador Chafik Rachadi said, “Today, Morocco’s monarchy, with over 1,200 years of history, marks 26 years of reign under the wise and forward-looking leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This moment also demonstrates 26 years of momentum as we have experienced economic, social, diplomatic, and institutional transformation. Stressing that Morocco’s GDP has tripled during this period, Amb. Chafik Rachadi said, “Thanks to political stability, a favorable investment climate, and a commitment to diversification, Morocco is becoming a regional economic hub - resilient, green, and future-ready. “In 2025, Morocco continues to invest in large-scale infrastructure - from railways and highways to ports, airports and water systems - with a dual focus on global connectivity and environmental responsibility. Under the enlightened vision of His Majesty, we see macroeconomic stability and investment growth, driving a 55% surge in foreign direct investment in the past year.” He also mentioned, “Morocco has emerged as a continental leader in automotive and aeronautic manufacturing, becoming the largest car producer in Africa and a key hub for supplying global aerospace brands. Further, over 40% of our electricity comes from renewables, and Morocco is investing heavily in solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects, aiming to reach 52% renewable capacity by 2030. Commenting that the issue of territorial integrity and the Moroccan Sahara is very important to every Moroccan, Amb. Chafik Rachadi said, “Morocco has witnessed unprecedented achievements, in line with His Majesty’s High Vision, as we broaden international support for the Moroccan Sahara. In 2025 alone, Spain, France, UK and Portugal reaffirmed their support, joining the U.S. and over 120 countries in recognizing or supporting Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.” He also said, “Morocco and Korea have significantly deepened cooperation across economic, political, and cultural sectors, reflected in high-level visits, agreements, and growing business ties. As my country prepares to co-host with Spain and Portugal, the 2030 FIFA World Cup, both Morocco and Korea are already working together on mega-infrastructure projects.” Delivering a congratulatory speech, Chung Kee-yong, Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Climate Change, the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Korea, said, “Korea and Morocco are forging new paths together—built on innovation, mutual benefit, and shared aspirations.
