Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador for International Cyber Cooperation Yoon Jong-kwon held the 2nd Korea-Netherlands Security Consultative Meeting with Wouter Jurgens, Director-General for Security Policy at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in The Hague, Netherlands, on November 10.
During this Security Consultative Meeting, both sides exchanged views on various security issues facing the two countries, including: ▴assessment of the security threat environment, ▴non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), ▴emerging security threats, and ▴new technologies and security, and explored concrete cooperation measures.
Both sides explored practical ways to strengthen joint responses to cybersecurity risks and ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI in defense, while reaffirming their shared commitment to maintaining global security and stability.
The diplomats emphasized that security in the Indo-Pacific and Europe is increasingly interconnected, agreeing to continue coordinated efforts and dialogue in these areas.
They also exchanged views on traditional security concerns, including the nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, underscoring the importance of international collaboration in addressing both conventional and emerging threats.
