The Korea-Arab Society co-hosted a seminar titled “Why Our Future Lies in the Middle East?” with the National Assembly's Global Diplomacy and Security Forum on September 11 at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeoui-do, Seoul.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the seminar focused on discussing Korea-Middle East cooperation strategies in the core future industries of AI, hydrogen, and defense.

Approximately 100 participants attended, including National Assembly members, the Arab diplomatic corps in Korea, business leaders, and students.
Delivering a keynote speech, H.E. Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to Korea, dean of Arab Diplomatic Corps, and concurrently vice president of Korea-Arab Society, said, “The global rise of Korean culture has found a strong following in the Arab world. This has created a growing interest in Korean language in Arab universities as well as led to an increase of the number of Arab students in Korean universities.
“Similarly, the expansion of Arabic language programs in Korean universities has sparked growing interest among Korean youth in learning the Arabic language and exploring Arab culture.”

Noting that the UAE-Republic of Korea relationship today stands as a model of strategic engagement, he said, “What began as a traditional economic has evolved into a comprehensive, future-oriented partnership. This relationship is more than a bilateral success. It serves as a regional model of cooperation, showcasing the full potential of Arab-Korean collaboration. It offers valuable inspiration for similar partnerships across the region.”
Amb. Al Nuaimi continued to say, “Buliding on this strong bilateral foundation, the Republic of Korea and Arab nations can further strengthen and institutionalize their strategic cooperation. How should the two sides be prepared for the future?
“Looking ahead, it is essential that we strengthen and institutionalize our strategic cooperation. This includes sustaining platforms like this forum, expanding sectoral partnerships, and fostering innovation-driven collaboration in critical fields such as green technology, smart agriculture, and clean energy.”
He added, “Together, the two sides can forge a partnership that not only addresses the challenges of today, but also embraces the opportunities and uncertainties of the future. Let us continue to build a shared future - one rooted in mutual interests and driven by a spirit of collaboration.”
