Indian Ambassador to Korea Amit Kumar visits Gimhae City

Discussions on cooperation in various areas and future direction

Ambassador Amit Kumar of India to Korea visited Gimhae City and had lunch with Gimhae Mayor Hong Tae-yong, reaffirming the special bond between Gimhae and India.

 

Ambassador Amit Kumar expressed his affection for Gimhae, which he considers his hometown, and expressed his commitment to further revitalizing exchanges between the two countries.

 

 

Mayor Hong expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Amit Kumar's deep interest in Gimhae and the various cooperative projects he has pursued during his term. Ambassador Amit Kumar also expressed his special affection, describing Gimhae as "like home."

 

The two agreed to further strengthen the relationship between Gimhae and India, which is rooted in the historical bond between King Suro and Queen Heo. The luncheon discussed in-depth cooperation in various areas.

 

Gimhae City established a sister city relationship with Ayodhya, India, in February 2000, and a friendship relationship with Uttar Pradesh, where Ayodhya is located, in December 2017, and has maintained active exchanges between the two countries.

 

Ambassador Amit Kumar has emphasized the relationship between the two countries through numerous visits to Gimhae, including attending the opening ceremonies of the 2023 and 2025 Gaya Cultural Festivals. This visit was a meaningful occasion to reaffirm this deep friendship and cooperation.
