President Jeong Yong-gi of Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC) met with Uzbek Ambassador to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov at KDHC headquarters on Aug. 4 to discuss the progress for advancement of K-Heating into Uzbek market and ways to expand cooperation in the energy sector.

In June of last year, the leaders of Korea and Uzbekistan signed the "Uzbekistan District Heating Modernization Project Agreement," which aims to upgrade Uzbekistan's aging district heating facilities to a Korean-style K-Heating system based on combined heat and power plants.

KDHC President Jeong informed the Uzbek Ambassador that KDHC has launched a dedicated task force for the Uzbek K-Heating Project as a preliminary step toward transferring its "high-efficiency, low-carbon, and eco-friendly K-Heating system" to Uzbekistan.

Through this, KDHC has been carrying out various projects, including modernizing aging district heating facilities in Uzbekistan, providing energy infrastructure consulting for the new city (New Tashkent), providing tours of advanced district heating systems for high-ranking Uzbek energy officials, and hosting meetings to support exports by domestic companies.

Furthermore, based on Korea's development experience, Jeong emphasized that establishing an efficient and eco-friendly K-heating system in the New Tashkent city is essential for Uzbekistan's sustainable development.
In response, Uzbek Ambassador to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov expressed his deep gratitude to KDHC employees for their dedication to the development of the Uzbek energy industry. He added, "We will do our best to ensure K Heating's successful entry into Uzbekistan."

Meanwhile, KDHC is accelerating its entry into new overseas markets by establishing a "Northern Business" strategy to export high-efficiency, low-carbon, and eco-friendly K-Heating to Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia.
