Nkubito Manzi Bakuramutsa, the Rwandan Ambassador to South Korea, visited the Chungcheongbuk-do province and met with Governor Kim Young-hwan on June 30, 2025.

This visit was part of mutual exchanges that began with the visit of Kim Soo-min, Vice Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do Province, to the Rwandan Embassy in South Korea in March.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation, cultivate bio talent, and develop the bio industry.

Vice Governor Kim emphasized, “Chungbuk Province is the heart of K-Bio and a forward base for life science innovation. Let's harmoniously combine our strengths to build a sustainable and future-oriented partnership.”

After the meeting, Vice Governor Kim and the Rwandan Ambassador visited the K-Bio Square currently under construction in Osong to hear about the progress of the project and the status of core infrastructure construction.

They also exchanged opinions on future operational directions and possibilities for international cooperation.

They then visited the Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation to tour the Bio Talent Development Project Team, New Drug Development Support Center, and Bio Clinical Support Center.

They confirmed Chungbuk's world-class bio industry capabilities, ranging from vaccine development to medical device verification, licensing support, and global bio talent cultivation.

Vice Governor Kim said, “I expect this meeting to lead to practical bio cooperation between Chungbuk Province and Rwanda,” adding, “It was a meaningful time to sow the seeds of international cooperation in Chungbuk, the center of K-Bio that is attracting global attention.”
