Belarus Embassy, Diplomacy Journal hold the “WWII Victims Remembrance Day” event

The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea held an event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People, co-organized by the South Korean news media Diplomacy Journal on June 20, 2025.

 

 

In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Andrew Chernetsky pointed out the need to defend the historical truth about the crimes of Nazi Germany against the Belarusian population and the peoples of the former Soviet republics, to preserve the memory of the Great Victory and to suppress attempts to rewrite the history of the feat of the peoples of the USSR.

 

 

The memorial event, attended by heads of diplomatic missions of a number of CIS countries and friendly states, famous representatives of the South Korean public and the Belarusian diaspora, was accompanied by a screening of historical and documentary films produced by the national film studio Belarus film "Burned Villages" and "Death Camps", telling about the numerous atrocities of the fascist regime on the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.

 

 

The event was supplemented by photo exhibitions "Belarus Undefeated" and "80 Years of Victory - Dedicated to the Great Feat", demonstrating numerous frames of military chronicles, post-war photographs of destroyed Belarus, as well as modern photographs of restored cities.

 

 

Following the event, Publisher-Chairman Lee Jon-young of the Diplomacy Journal delivered a plaque of appreciation to Ambassador of Belarus to Korea Andrew Chernetsky in recognition of his great contribution to promoting diplomatic and cultural relations between Korea and Belarus.
