Daewoo E&C Chairman Jeong Won-ju visited Mozambique in Africa to meet with Mozambique's President Daniel Francisco Chapo and discuss current issues, the company said on June 19.
During his visit to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, on June 18, Chairman Jeong stated, “We have experience contributing to the economic development of African countries through projects such as the Botswana-Zambia Kazungula Bridge and the Ethiopia Highway Project.”

He added, “I hope that Daewoo Engineering & Construction will contribute to Mozambique's leap forward as a global natural gas exporter and achieve rapid economic growth.”
Chairman Jeong requested cooperation for the smooth progress of the LNG plant project that has already been awarded and asked for interest and support for the project bidding that is currently being pursued for additional orders.
In response, Mozambican President Daniel Chapo said, “Mozambique is undergoing a period of great change as it marks its 50th anniversary of independence, and we hope that Daewoo E&C will take a keen interest in not only the LNG project but also new city development and tourism development projects, based on its diverse development project expertise,” promising active support.
