The World Peace Art Exhibition Organizing Committee (WPAEOC), led by Chairman Lee Jon-young, donated 42 K-folk painting artworks to the Busan Detention Center under the Daegu Regional Correctional Office on May 30, continuing its art sharing activities to help inmates' emotional stability and social reintegration.

This donation was made possible through the proposal of Chairman Lee Jon-young, who has shown deep interest in the rehabilitation of inmates and the prevention of reoffending.

The donated works will be installed in the detention center's exhibition space, allowing both inmates and correctional staff to enjoy them.

Chairman Lee stated, “Art has the power to heal the mind and inspire dreams of a new life,” adding, “I hope the donated works bring a small comfort and solace to the inmates.”

Kim Dong-hyun, Commissioner of the Daegu Regional Correctional Office, said, “The World Peace Art Exhibition Organizing Committee has already donated works to Daegu Prison, Pohang Prison, and other facilities, contributing to the emotional stability and character restoration of inmates. This donation is another meaningful example of the committee's warm support for correctional administration, and we express our deep gratitude and respect.”

Nam Joon-rak, chief of Busan Detention Center, said in his greeting, “The donated artworks will greatly help to improve the emotional well-being of inmates and revitalize the atmosphere of the entire correctional facility. We plan to display the works so that both staff and inmates can freely enjoy them.”

Meanwhile, this is the fifth case of the World Peace Art Exhibition Organizing Committee donating artworks to prisons nationwide, and it plans to continue its art sharing activities targeting major correctional facilities nationwide in the future.
