Diplomacy Journal Jon Lee |  The World Peace Art Exhibition Organizing Committee, a non-profit corporation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced the appointment of Mme. Kim Tae-yeon, a cultural arts planner and designated reporter for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as its new Secretary General.

This appointment is being evaluated as a strategic personnel move aimed at strengthening the international standing of the World Peace Art Exhibition and expanding its global cultural arts network as it approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027.

Chairman of the Board of Damhwa stated, "The new Secretary General Mme. Kim Tae-yeon is a figure equipped with cultural arts planning capabilities, extensive experience in the media field, and a high level of understanding of international exchange.
Then he added, "We expect her to play a pivotal role in helping the World Peace Art Exhibition leap forward as a world-class cultural arts platform."

In particular, Chairman of Damhwa stated, "2027 is a significant year marking the 30th anniversary of the World Peace Art Exhibition," and added, "To commemorate this milestone, we plan to promote active participation from diplomatic missions in Korea and cultural institutions around the world to develop the exhibition into the nation's largest international art exhibition and grow it into a global cultural and artistic festival involving over 100 countries."

He further stated, "Secretary General Kim Tae-yeon, who possesses extensive experience in international cultural and artistic exchange, will play a key role in realizing this vision."

Going forward, the newly appointed Secretary General Mme Kim will oversee the operation of the World Peace Art Exhibition's exhibitions and events, as well as the establishment of domestic and international cultural and artistic networks, the promotion of international exchange projects, and public relations and external cooperation affairs.

Furthermore, based on his experience spanning the fields of culture, arts, and media, he plans to widely promote the values of peace, culture, and art pursued by the World Peace Art Exhibition both at home and abroad, and to expand the platform for international cultural and artistic exchange where artists from around the world can participate together.

Meanwhile, the World Peace Art Exhibition is operated with the goal of promoting world peace and revitalizing international cultural exchange through culture and the arts, and has established itself as Korea's representative international art event featuring artists from both Korea and abroad. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary in 2027, the Organizing Committee plans to pursue various international cooperation projects with the goal of building a global art platform involving 100 countries.
