Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ) Commissioner Park Sung-ho discussed ways to expand economic cooperation and investment with Uzbek Ambassador to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov, who paid an official visit to the Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority on March 14.
The ambassador’s visit is expected to be an important opportunity to strengthen economic ties between Korea and Uzbekistan.

Commissioner Park and the Uzbek ambassador focused on the possibility of cooperation with key industries in the Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone. The two countries have been cooperating closely, especially in the fields of manufacturing, logistics, green energy, and smart industries, and the visit is expected to open up avenues for the zone's tenants to expand into Central Asia.
Uzbekistan is a key economic hub in Central Asia, and has recently been actively promoting openness and industrial modernization to strengthen its connections to the global market.
The Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone is expected to become a center for such cooperation, especially as opportunities for cooperation with South Korea in various industries such as automotive parts and textiles are expanding.
Ambassador Abdusalomov toured key industrial parks in the Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone and closely examined investment possibilities for Uzbek companies. He also discussed with the BJFEZ the possibility of establishing a bilateral cooperation program to encourage Korean companies to enter Uzbekistan.
