President Yoon Suk-yeol met with outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden in Lima, Peru, on Nov. 15, holding a 10-minute summit.
President Yoon met with President Biden on the sidelines of the first session of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, followed by a 40-minute meeting between the U.S., South Korea and Japan, and a 10-minute summit between the U.S. and South Korea.

“I would like to thank President Biden for his contribution to strengthening the U.S.-ROK alliance and U.S.-Japan cooperation,” Yoon said during the U.S.-ROK summit, emphasizing that ”most of the diplomatic achievements that I am proud of during the first half of my presidency were made with President Biden.”
“I am grateful and proud to have accomplished so many important things with President Yoon,” Biden responded.
During the 10-minute meeting, the two leaders reflected on what they had accomplished together over the past two and a half years, the presidential office said. “Even if there is new leadership in the U.S. in the future, Biden promised to continue to support President Yoon and the U.S.-South Korea relationship,” the presidential office official said.
Biden also praised Yoon's leadership during the U.S.-South Korea-Japan summit that day. “I salute President Yoon for his leadership in the Camp David agreement and the progress we have made in U.S.-South Korea-Japan cooperation,” Biden said, according to the Presidential Office.
