In Tashkent the 9th Congress of the Democratic Party "Milliy Tiklanish" (National Revival) took place, where the results of the party's activities from 2020 to 2024 were analyzed, and the pre-election program for 2025-2029 was approved. During the event, candidates for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan were also nominated.
Chairman of the Central Council of the Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish Alisher Kadyrov, Chairman of the Central Council of the party, delivered a report summarizing the party’s activities over the past five years. He emphasized that the party has established itself as a significant political force in society, growing to 762,000 members with a consistent electorate and dedicated supporters.
The party’s current election program outlined over 300 tasks, of which 294 (or 98 percent) have already been fulfilled. Among the accomplishments, 30 have been incorporated into legislation, 130 into presidential decrees, 77 into decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers and ministries, and 25 have been included in the State Program for implementing the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in 2023.
Notable legislative initiatives include the introduction of the law "On the Status of Teachers," the addition of the subject "Education" to grades 1-9 from the 2020/2021 school year and to grades 10-11 from the 2021/2022 school year, and the clear legislative removal of the practice where the head of the local executive authority simultaneously chairs the local Council of People's Deputies. Furthermore, over 25,000 deputy requests were submitted to regional, district, and city councils of people's deputies by party-elected representatives to ensure law implementation.
A key topic at the congress was the party's participation in the upcoming elections to representative bodies. The party’s Election Program for 2025-2029 was presented to the delegates, focusing on its strategy for the upcoming electoral cycle.
The congress approved the new election program and discussed the nomination of candidates for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Information about the candidates from each district was also announced.
